iPhone 3GS vs Blackberry Storm 2

iPhone 3GS
The iPhone 3GS; is not much of a difference externally, and is pretty much the splitting image of the iPhone 3G. It's internally where all the changes have occurred, with Apple issuing an improved CPU, new internal compass, larger storage capacity, and improved camera optics. Subsequently the release of the 3GS corresponds with the release of iPhone OS 3.0, an important step from previous versions of the system software. highly sought after, OS 3.0 included featured such as cut, copy and paste, stereo Bluetooth, MMS, tethering, video recording, landscape keyboard options for more applications, and Spotlight for the iPhone platform.
Why should you consider buying? That depends on the amount your willing to pay for the privileges. If your not yet an iPhone owner, and been waiting for that right time or model, this is the time to go for it. this is also recommended for iPhone Classic owners who never upgraded to the iPhone 3G. But, if you're a current owner of the iPhone 3G, the answer isn't so clear.

One of the major contribution to the Apple iPhone's popularity can be seen with the development of the App store. This feature accessible to all iPhone users through the embedded application,  is filled with both apple made and third party sources.

Blackberry Storm 2

"Reinventing the wheel", a phrase that seemed to tell the story of the Apple company, has seem to take its place in the Blackberry Smart phone community. RIM has altered it touchscreen capabilities with the Storm 2 9520, featuring a re-tooled clickable touchscreen technology and new intuitive text input options.
But, this may be seen as RIM's attempt to rival Apple's iPhone 3GS, Palm Pre and HTC Hero, but are the updates on the Storm 2 enough to make a comeback from widely condemned original Storm?

The Storm 2 is just about the same size as the original, but 5g heavier. However,it rests well in the palm, with minimal dexterity needed to shuffle up and down the screen and also hit the on/lock screen button on the top left-hand side, a crucial feature that is often missed by mobile designers.

The Storm 2 is pretty button-packed around the edges, with rubberized buttons (manufactured this way to stop them falling off, a problem with the original Storm).

The left-hand side of the device has a microUSB port and a function key that can be re-assigned to provide access to your favourite shortcut.
At the top, the phone has two buttons embedded into it – the power/lock button and the mute key. The 3.5mm headphone jack is now recessed into the phone on the right-hand side of the phone. The camera shutter button is also located on the right-hand side, far enough away from the other keys that you can easily avoid striking it.

VERDICT
Well its finally time to give the last word on the winner of this round. Each of these phones brings something different and innovative to the table, ranging from the multi-touch iPhone 3GS screen, to the Storm 2's click-able touch surface.
apart from all this, user will consider a lot more than just fancy features, but more so the functionality and efficiency of the product. Both phones features a big touch screen, long battery life and great emailing capabilities. However, there are still some places where they differ. the Blackberry Storm 2 seemed to have improved from it predecessor the Storm 2, with the revamping of the click-able touch screen, making it feel like your actually clicking buttons when typing, giving the feel of a traditional texting experience. it also give you a well implemented easy to use cut, copy and paste function, not a new feature, but one that was troublesome on previous Blackberry smart phone models. These improvements have created a chance for Blackberry for redeem its once held top position, or is it?

Innovation and class comes to mind, when looking at the elegantly refined build of the iPhone 3GS, but what else do you expect from the Apple company. Breaking into the boundaries of the phone industry, creating a battle field for the top position in first class smart phones. Iphone has come a long way in a short time and in improved quite a lot as well. "If its not broken, don't fix it", and indeed this is true. The iPhone 3GS has been remodeled with a number of elements in mind, improved battery life for longer talk time, larger storage capacity as well as a more refined CPU, these upgrade have made the iPhone 3GS a force to be reckoned with.
Comparing the two side-by-side the functionality is basically the same with each giving its little twist. From the 3GS's extended features such video editing capabilities, to the more improved Storm 2's click-able surface. The Blackberry Storm 2 goes for around $550 US dollars with 2GB memory card, while the iPhone is $199 for the 16GB and $299 for the 32GB with contract. As far as money goes i would say iPhone has the upper hand, but ultimately it comes down to the user preference.
